ABOUT THE
FOUNDATION

Our Mission:

the preservation, restoration and enhancement of the Basilica of St. Josaphat as an historical landmark, center of spirituality, and community asset for Milwaukee, Wisconsin and our nation.

Saving a Monument

Since its establishment in 1991, the St. Josaphat Basilica Foundation, with its Board of Directors, has made significant strides in its effort to care for the Basilica. After a complete restoration of the Basilica concomitant with the Foundation’s formation, repairs and refurbishments have been made on a regular schedule. The Foundation’s efforts to raise awareness of the historical and cultural significance of the Basilica and the role it fills as a community hub in Lincoln Village has drawn increasing numbers of visitors worldwide to see this Milwaukee landmark, year after year. The Basilica is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The St. Josaphat Basilica Foundation is a chartered nonprofit, nonsectarian organization led by an independent Board of Directors.

The St. Josaphat Basilica Foundation does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or national origin.
